Welcome to Elmwood Middle School!
It is my honor to welcome you to a school community where every student is valued, supported, and challenged to grow. At Elmwood, our mission is simple: to create an environment of educational excellence where all belong, all learn, and all succeed. Our vision is equally important: Believing leads to achieving; meeting the needs of everyone, every day. We believe that when students know they are capable, supported, and cared for, they can accomplish extraordinary things. That belief drives every decision we make and every opportunity we provide.
As one of the largest and most diverse middle schools in Arkansas, we are proud of the opportunities available to our students. Whether through rigorous academics, athletics, fine arts, clubs, leadership opportunities, or service projects, there is truly a place for everyone to connect, learn, and thrive. Welcome Back, Raiders!
We are excited to welcome our students and families for the 2026-2027 school year! Below you'll find important dates, reminders, and resources to help your family prepare for a successful start to the school year.
6th Grade Orientation
Friday, August 7, 2026 | 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Incoming 6th grade students are invited to attend a special orientation designed to help make the transition from elementary school to middle school a positive experience. Students should wear comfortable shoes and should not bring school supplies.
6th Grade Open House
Monday, August 10, 2026 | 5:30–7:00 p.m.
Students and families can pick up schedules, meet teachers, visit classrooms, and learn more about the school year ahead. Teacher presentations will begin at 5:45, 6:15, and 6:45 p.m.
7th & 8th Grade Open House
Thursday, August 6, 2026 | 5:30–7:00 p.m.
Students and families can pick up schedules, meet teachers, visit classrooms, and learn more about the school year ahead. Teacher presentations will begin at 5:45, 6:15, and 6:45 p.m.

Elmwood Middle School uses ParentSquare to keep families informed and connected throughout the school year.
With ParentSquare, families can:
- Receive school announcements and reminders
- Communicate with teachers and staff
- View classroom updates and photos
- Sign up for conferences and events
- Complete forms and permission slips
- Receive school and emergency notifications
For additional school news, celebrations, and highlights, follow Elmwood Middle School on Facebook.
Families who may qualify for meal assistance should complete a Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application.
Meal benefits do not automatically carry over from year to year. Applications must be completed annually to determine eligibility.
Starting July 1, applications may be submitted online or completed in person during Meet Your Teacher Night.
